Tri-State Fence & Deck installs fences and decks across Shamong Township and the Indian Mills area. We've been building in Burlington County for over 20 years, and we know what it takes to make a fence last on Pine Barrens properties. Licensed, insured, and backed by a 3-year workmanship warranty. We handle the permits so you don't have to.

Shamong covers 45 square miles of Pine Barrens landscape. Properties here sit on bigger lots than what you find in Gloucester or Camden County suburbs. That changes the fencing conversation. Ranch and split rail make sense for boundary marking on multi-acre parcels. Vinyl privacy still dominates for backyards and pool areas. We match material to lot size and how you actually plan to use the fence.

Transform your property with premium vinyl fencing, designed for strength and low maintenance, vinyl fences provide lasting style and dependable performance.
White vinyl privacy fencing remains the top choice for backyards and pool enclosures throughout rural Burlington County. It handles all weather and soil conditions without staining, sealing, or the constant upkeep wood requires.

Built for Local Conditions
Fence performance changes by region—what works in Georgia doesn’t always last in South Jersey. Our designs are engineered around South Jersey’s coastal humidity, clay-heavy soil, and freeze-thaw cycles.

Shamong sits on Downer-series sandy loam — classic Pine Barrens soil that is loose, acidic, and fast-draining. Because the ground provides less stability, we pour wider concrete footings for every installation here and install aluminum and steel posts with powder coating or hot-dip galvanization. Standard footings in Downer-series sand tend to shift over time, and untreated metal corrodes much faster in Pine Barrens soil than most homeowners realize.
Local conditions we plan for on every Shamong install:
Shamong Township requires a permit for all new fence installations through the construction office at 105 Willow Grove Road. Homeowners must submit their application at least 14 days before their requested inspection date. We handle the paperwork and coordinate 811 utility marking so your installation day runs without delays.
What defines our craftsmanship:
Permit coordination included:
Properties in the Indian Mills area sit on the Township's primary developed land. Lot sizes here are smaller than those of the rural parcels farther east, but still larger than those in typical suburban subdivisions. Front-yard fences along CR 532 need to account for county road setbacks.
Properties along Route 206 and the Atsion corridor border or sit near Wharton State Forest. Boundary fencing on lots adjacent to state land may require coordination with NJ DEP if the property line falls near wetlands or stream corridors.
Properties near the Batsto River and Atsion Lake may sit in or near FEMA flood zones. We check flood zone status at the estimate stage and flag any additional permits before materials are ordered.

Every Tri-State Fence & Deck project follows the standards required by South Jersey township and county codes—from post depth and frost line clearance to concrete set times and gate spacing.
Our crews follow a structured checklist developed over 20 years of regional experience to ensure your fence or deck passes inspection and stands the test of time.
What defines our craftsmanship:
Posts set to South Jersey frost depth (typically 30"–36" minimum, depending on township)
Concrete mixed and cured per ASTM fence-post standards.
Vinyl and aluminum rails reinforced with steel or aluminum inserts where required.
Deck framing built with weather-rated fasteners and NJ-approved joist spacing
Site cleanup and gate alignment were verified before the customer walkthrough.

Most residential fence projects are completed within 1 to 3 days once materials arrive and permits are approved. Larger multi-acre properties, decks, and automated gate systems may take longer due to additional footing and electrical work. We coordinate the permit and 811 process ahead of installation to help keep the schedule on track.
Vinyl and powder-coated aluminum tend to perform best in Shamong’s climate and soil conditions. Both require very little maintenance and hold up well long-term. Wood fencing needs staining or sealing every few years, though cedar split rail remains a popular option for larger rural properties.
Vinyl privacy fencing typically runs between $28 and $45 per linear foot installed, while aluminum fencing usually ranges from $30 to $50 per linear foot. Split rail and ranch fencing generally cost less per foot, which matters on larger Pinelands lots. Final pricing depends on materials, gate count, grade changes, and site clearing. We provide a written quote during the on-site estimate.
It changes how footings need to be built. The sandy soil across Shamong requires a different installation approach than heavier ground conditions. We pour wider concrete footings to improve long-term stability and use corrosion-resistant materials on metal and wood posts to handle the acidic Pine Barrens soil.
Most Shamong properties are not part of an HOA. The Township is largely rural, with individually owned lots instead of planned developments. Most fences only need to meet Township zoning rules for height and setbacks. If your property has deed restrictions, we review them during the estimate before recommending materials or placement.
